7 States in 2 Days

So my wife drops me off at the airport Friday night for my flight to Seattle, Washington. I know I tried my best not to start crying, and I could see it in her eye. Can't even tell you how hard it was to push that back and fight the knot in my throat. But I made my way into the airport and straight to the security check, and the lady checking ID's knew something was wrong. She must have seen my sad face, cause she asked me if I was okay. So after that I'm getting ready to put my bag on the moving belt, and I see a guy taking out his laptop and I'm thinking to myself, "Man, I'm glad that I didn't have to bring my laptop and only my...... wait....... MY CAMERA!!!!!" I had forgotten my camera. I can't even begin to tell you how angry and disappointed I was in myself for that. Erin offered to turn around and bring hers to me, but she was already on her way back. So disappointing. So I bought myself a slice of pizza and a bottle of water and I sit and wait for my plane to arrive. While I'm waiting there was a group of kids, maybe around 15 - 20 kids all with their school shirts on, which I'm assuming were either returning or going on a trip. I'm thinking, "Great, what a great setup for a tragic plane accident. A group of kids on a field trip." So I board the plane and I put my head phones on and off we are.

WASHINGTON
The trip didn't seem too long and it was good to see my cousin waiting when I got there. As soon as we got in the car, we were off on our trip. I can't really say much about the State of Washington, cause I didn't get to see much of it, since it was already dark. I did see downtown from the plane and it was very nice, especially with the needle. I did however catch the smell of some of the refineries there, which smelled like brand new rubber tires. Nice.

OREGON
The first half of Oregon I missed cause I was half asleep trying to catch some rest before it was my turn to drive. I did however get to catch the sunrise and the beautiful green mountains covered with pure white snow. Gorgeous scenery. I also learned that in Oregon, you're not allowed to pump your own gas. Very strange. We stopped and the man filled us up, and my Cousin told me that you can even give them tips. And I'm like, "For what? Pulling the trigger on the hose and stand there to talk to you?"

CALIFORNIA
Okay, so we drove the Northeastern part of California so it wasn't "fun in the sun". It was the cold, snowy mountains. It was still quite nice, but we had to take a different highway to Reno, cause the original highway we were gonna take was snowed in. The high way was really cool looking cause all the snow that had been plowed was all along the edges of the roadway. And when you would reach the area where there were lakes there was nothing but white covering the ground. What's so special about that? Well, you're talking about a Texas boy that doesn't get to see much of snow, and when we do, it rarely makes it to the ground in it's white form.

NEVADA
Once we mad it to Reno, we met up with my two buddies, Alan and Adam. It was really good to meet them in person and we ate at a local place. 50 wings. Really good stuff, cause they weren't small, they were almost full size. Good stuff. We chatted and ate and joked about all kinds of things. Really cool couple of guys, you should actually catch them on Adam's show. www.theadamvarashow.com . So after that, we made our way down to Las Vegas. When we reached there, it was late night. Have you ever driven at night and as you're coming up to the city you can start to see the city lights? Okay, well nothing compares to the City of Las Vegas. It was amazing. We were really tired and decided to stop and rest, but we didn't want to stop in Vegas cause we figured it would be too expensive. We stopped right after it right before the Hoover Dam. We stayed in a little motel, which was so ghetto. In the shower there was used bar of soap, broken in half, an open and used pack of shampoo, and a use and still wet wash cloth. Nice. Thank God my wife packed my stuff that I needed already. There were so many other things I could just go on about this place, but I would rather not. It was a mess, and I hope I never have to stay there again. We slept for about 5 hours and we were off again around 6 AM.

ARIZONA
We crossed over Hoover Dam and it was pretty cool. I'm sure you probably have walk it to get the full effect, cause it wasn't all that driving over it. Arizona was okay, nothing too special. I will tell you this, a warning to everyone, do not drive over the speed limit!!! The speed limit was 75 MPH, and the guy pulls us over and says, "I got you doing 77 to 79 in a 75 zone". I thought to myself, "You have to be kidding me!!!" What can you do. He did let us off with a warning, and we just kept on our way. The one memorable thing from AZ was in Phoenix we were on I-10 and we went in the tunnel. That was pretty cool. That was about it. We went from sweaters and hoodies to taking those off from North to South.

NEW MEXICO
I don't know if you've evern seen the map of New Mexico, but there is this little piece at the very bottom that sticks out. Yup, that's all we saw of New Mexico. We passed through Las Cruces, which seemed like we stopped in a rough neighborhood. We stopped stretched our legs, used the restroom, got some candy and headed right back out.

TEXAS
It's always good to be back in Texas. Soon, we were already in El Paso, which is a big city. It seemed like it took forever to drive through it. But we finally made it out and we made our way back home to Houston on I-10. It was late night to morning, so there wasn't any traffic at all, which was great. We made a few stops during this, but to be honest the toughest time through this whole trip was from San Antonio. I wanted to keep driving, but I just couldn't anymore. My cousing took the wheel and as we're driving into Houston, the sun starts to irratate his eyes and he keeps splashing water on his face to help out. We ended up catching traffice hour here, so we got stuck in that for a bit. We finally got home around 8:30 AM and we both crashed out. He only waited a couple of hours before taking off again, but he said those two hours of sleep really helped a whole lot. I woke up to let him out and I decided to take a nice long shower and ate a banana before going right backt bed. I didn't wake up till my beautiful wife returned from work. I didn't have any trouble going to sleep around 10:00 PM.

All in all, I had a blast with my cousin. We caught up on so much and just talked about so many different things. But it was a VERY tiring trip. I'm still tired now. It was really awesome being able to experience that. I wish we could have had more time, but it was really great, regardless.

Lowest Price... GURANTEED!!!

You ever see that on a commercial? Sometimes I wish I could go to a place like that and be like, "Well, Walmart is selling it for this price". Then when they lowered it, I'd call up Walmart and just go back and forth with them and eventually get me an XBOX 360 and a Wii for $2. :) Hey, it could happen. They'll keep fighting back and forth lowering their prices. I'll be sitting there smiling as it does.

It's Friday, it would be nice to get out of here early. The parking lots were a bit bare this morning here. I mean, they usually are on Fridays, but today they were extra bare. :)

That's what she said.

So for the past few days I've been watching The Office. Man, it's super funny. I've seen a few episodes here and there, but lately I've been watching the Seasons. Super funny. I don't know what I would do if I had to walk in an office like that. I think I would probably be Jim on the office. Cause Dwight would so be on my list. Lol. Michael is such a dork too. I don't know if I could work under someone like him though. There are a couple of other people on there that would so get on my last nerve, and some that I would just totally avoid.

I wish I was at home right now. Doing nothing. Nothing at all. Maybe playing video games or watching movies with my lovely wife. Either is good, as long as we're both home together. :)

Skating with the Coltmeister

Last night before I went to bed, I decided to play some Skate2 online with my good online friend Alan, or as I first new him, "Colt". I said I would only play one hour, and ended up play for 2 and a half hours. Here is some footage of last night when I skated the wall. And there's another from a while back where I some how managed to jump over Colt. Don't ask how that happened, it just did. Probably couldn't do it again. :) Enjoy.

Sleepy....

I don't know why, but I didn't get any rest last night. I was tossing and turning all night. I really hate that. I woke up feeling so restless. I'm still feeling it now, and I'm sure it won't go away. Just thought I'd share that with the world. Lol. Or should I say, the two people who read this. Maybe even three... maybe. :)

Oh yea, I forgot to mention that it's overcast outside, so that's not helping. The sun needs to hurry about and come out, and make everything bright and sunny and happy!!!

Street Fighter!!!

Street Fighter comes out tomorrow! Woohoo! I have not played that game since Street Fighter 2. Good times. I hope it's the same type of game play. Speaking of Street Fighter, I saw a new trailer for the new Street Fighter movie, the one with Chun Li. Should be exciting. Looked like a good movie. I hadn't seen much of it until recently and it's coming out on the 27th. Weird.

Today, the movie Quarantine comes out. I'm debating whether to go get it or not. It looks like a good movie, but I have been let down too many times before when it comes to horror movies. I guess we'll see what happens.

UFC........

Sitting here watching a UFC special on SPIKE TV. It amazes me how much these guys train. I guess you have to when the guy across the octagon is wanted to knock you out, or put you into submission until you tap out or pass out. Some people say this is brutal and how can anyone watch them do that to one another. They special is about Diego Sanchez vs Joe Steven, part of the countdown to UFC 95. According to this commercial, it's free on SPIKE. I will have to watch this one. I never get to watch these cause they're usually Pay Per View. Saturday and 9PM. Check it out, don't miss it!

Okay, I just saw a commercial for the SLIM CLIP. Lol. They showed a guy sitting down with his super messy wallet half way out of his back pocket and he hurts his back. Lol! I'll admit, sometimes my wallet can be uncomfortable, depending on what I'm wearing, but I have never hurt my back like that. Losers.

A little bit worse...

Seems like my headache just got a bit worse. I really hope this goes away. I had a slight headache yesterday too. It's just carrying on. Staring at this big screen doesn't really help, either. But what can you do? It's like telling a surgeon he can't use his hands! :)

I got a paper cut on my finger. It hurts. Not just from paper either, it's from foam board. Ouchie. Those are the injuries from a graphic designer. Lol. No twisted ankles or broken bones. Just paper cuts and headaches. Oh, and the occasional sore fingers. It's just something we have to risk for the job. :)

Mondays..... blah.

Mondays, why do we hate them so much? I mean, is it their fault that they are the first of the work week? I mean, if Mondays were our Sundays, would we hate Mondays so much? Would Tuesdays be the one's we hate the most? Poor Mondays. I know one of the reasons why I don't like Mondays is because my weekends are mostly spent with my wife, and we have such a great time, and it's hard to be away once you've spent two great days with one another.

I guess it also doesn't help that I'm feeling a little weird today. I have a weird headache, like a pressure headache. It doesn't hurt too much, it's more like my head feels really full. I just hope it gets better before it gets worse. I'm also feeling a bit hot and weak. Don't know where all of this is coming from. Really weird.

Last night, we lost our match on SOCOM. Oh well. Maybe next time. Control points are really not our thing. Well, I know it's not really my thing.

Your Adversary The Devil

This is the title of the current message series that Sugar Creek Baptist Church is going through right now. Today was probably one of the best so far of the series. Pastor Mark talked about Angels. And he told stories and accounts of people having come in contact with Angels, and it makes me wonder if I have ever as well. Even if I don't see them, I just know that there have been times where I should have been in an accident, but it was by the grace of God that I didn't. I'm looking forward to next weekend already. If you would like to catch the series, either the past ones, or even watch it live on Sunday, I'll leave you with the links. It's worth it. It will open your eyes and hopefully, open your heart as well.

Happy Valentine's!!!

Okay, so it's technically not Valentine's Day anymore, but whatever. I'm still awake, so it still counts as the same day! I hope everyone's Valentine's Day was good. Mine was. We basically stayed home and watched movies all day. Sappy, love movies. Lol. Okay, so they weren't so bad. We started off with Ghostown. Good movie, funny British humor. Recommend it if you liked those movies like Shawn Of The Dead and Run Fat Boy Run. It kept me and my wife laughing. Next we watched was Nights In Rodanthe. Pretty good movie. A bit sad and depressing at times, but overall a good movie. After that we watched The Way We Were. Older movie that Erin wanted to watch, but it wasn't too bad. I was a bit scared going into that one. After that one, we topped it off with Meet Joe Black. I had never seen that movie and Erin said it was a must see. I liked it. Good movie. Very good role by Brad Pitt.

After that I downloaded the Resident Evil 5 demo and Erin actually played with me. It was bit tough to get used to the controls, cause it's been a long while since I've played a RE game, but it was fun. She was freaking out the entiring time, but I'm glad she at least tried it out with me. Can't wait till it comes out. I also played the Mirror's Edge demo and wasn't too impressed with it. I mean, the game itself looks great, but the whole concept just didn't really grasp me.

Oh yeah, the pizza was great. I got the meat lover's one, with pepperoni, sausage, ham and of course, BACON. It was really good. We decided to go with Papa John's since we've been having trouble with the customer service with our local Pizza Hut. It got here about twenty minutes late, a total of about an hour and ten minutes. Whatever, it was still a good one.

All in all, it was a good day, just spending it with my best friend. We even got some rain today, and some thunder. Great weather to just be inside and do nothing. Hope today doesn't go by too fast. I really just want to enjoy the weekend. Of course, tomorrow we have a tournament match on SOCOM. Hope that goes well. I guess we will see, since I didn't play today. Hope I'm not too rusty tomorrow. Sometimes, I go through slumps, which I have been this past week. Not good.

Is it 5:30 yet?!?!

Why is the time just dragging today? It's Friday, let's get a move on! I have a headache, and I hope I'm not getting sick again. Seems like we're passing it back and forth here at work.

I was working on ONE logo almost all day long. It's like I don't even want to look at that anymore!!! You know, sometimes you're on a roll, and sometimes, you can't think of anything.

It's raining out right now. How I wish I was at home laying down or just watching TV on the couch. This is the weather that is great for just staying in and chillin.

Tomorrow is V-Day! No, not Veteran's Day, Valentine's Day. We'll keep with our tradition of Pizza and a movie. It's so just us. We don't like to go out and party, and we enjoy our time with one another.

If I had a pillow and a blankie..... I'd be under my desk/cubicle right now. Crashed out.

You don't know where that's been!!!

So today my wife shows me this dollar bill she found on the floor, and might I add it looked a bit raggish. Here's what she tells me, "I feel bad for picking it up. I think I'll donate it to someone who needs it. I picked it up and some guy was looking at me all weird. What I'm I supposed to do, just leave it there? Should I have left it there?" And my response to her was, "Why? Someone else probably would have picked it up and taken it to a strip club. At least you're willing to give it to someone in need".

So that brought to mind, I wonder how many of these dollar bills that we handle all the time have been inside the panties of strippers. Think about it. My wife thought I was a bit weird, and I'll admit it was a bit of a weird thought, but it really made me wonder. Think about that next time you're getting change somewhere. Might wanna buy you some gloves there...... or visit a hospital, they have them laying around like crazy. :)

Grrr....

So we got Cammy back yesterday and you could tell that she was in pain and a bit depressed. It was sad to see her that way. She actually looked better than I expected, but it was tough to see her like that. She's such a crazy cat and always bouncing around, so it's a bit different to see her just laying there with that look on her face.

Then I got on SOCOM and it was a bit frustrating. For one, it seemed like everyone on my team for one of the matches were just running around not really having any strategy. Two, I couldn't hit anything!!! Three, I kept getting killed almost right off the bat, no matter where I went. And lastly, I got disconnected twice. The second time, I just gave up and logged off. That was enough for one day.

We're supposed to be going out to eat today with a few of us from work. One of our printer reps is taking 4 of us out. Nice. Of course, after me and my friend David here get done eating, she'll probably never want to take us out again. :) We'll put her in the poor house. JK. Well, hopefully it'll be good no matter what. I'm already getting hungry thinking about it. Yum yum.

The SOCOM itch.....

Every now and then I'll get the urge or itch to get on and play. Before last night, the last time I had played was Saturday night. I know, I know, what's the big deal. Well, for those of us who are addicted to SOCOM or any video game for that matter, we get it. Last night I got on, and I must say, it was great to get back on the battlefield. I know, my wife is probably going to come on here and say I'm a dork, but at least I know one person who's going to comment on here and say "AMEN!"

I'm In Da Cube!!!

So yesterday they finished putting up our new cubicle at work. "What's so special about a cubicle"? Well, my friends, we were on a table before. Not the most "creative" space you could be at. Now we have a cubicle where we can put our stuff at, and put up our work on our walls. I'm excited. It does give us more privacy than before, but that's not that big of a deal. I'm just glad to have space now. Actual personal space. Very nice!

So last night, I was flipping through stations, and I'm proud to say that I avoided going to TruTV. It was hard, but I did it. Instead, I was watching The Girls Next Door. I wonder what's going to happen to that show. I'm sure they might just find another set of girls, but will they cut it?

We took our little cat, Cammy into the vet to get fixed. Poor little baby. Spike, our other cat, was a bit confused this morning. Luckily, she'll only be in there for the day. Erin will pick her up on her way back from work. I know she'll be a bit weird for the first few days back from that. But I'm sure she'll just be glad to be home again.

Blame it on TruTV!!

So last night I didn't go to bed till 3:30 AM. Why? Because of TruTV!!! They had all these shows of real life crime scene investigations. I don't know why I like that stuff so much. It's just so interesting how the find these clues and evidence to nail these people. There are some really clever criminals out there, that probably would have got away, but it's the small things they over look and get them caught. Just amazing. I just know it's going to hit me aroudn 2 or 3 today. I'll just feel so "blah" and be dragging around here.

Anyway, other news, we're getting some cubicles installed in our room here. Very nice. I can't wait till it's up and we get to get in there. I have a box full of stuff that I'm just ready to start putting away. I don't have any room for it here on this table we're on right now.

Eagle Eye The Zohan!!

Man, I can't believe tomorrow is already Monday. Again. Why does the weekend go by so quick? It's not fair, really. Time is not fair. It does not pass the same on weekdays as it does on weekends. Whatever. So today, we watched the LIVE broadcast of the SCBC service. Erin wasn't feeling too well, so we decided to stay in today. Then we watched Eagle Eye, which turned out to be a pretty good movie. It's full of action sequences. Then we did all of our tax stuff, well we had to get all the information straight and in order to do our taxes. What a mess. Erin really did all the work, I was just there to support and help pull info from our files. Then after that, I watched Don't Mess With The Zohan. Good movie. It had quite a bit of funny scenes. After that, while I was washing and folding, I watched Resident Evil. I've already seen it, but I just thought I'd watch it again, for kicks. Good movie. I was tempted to watch the second one, but I decided not to, because of the time. Now I'm watching Kicking and Screaming on TBS. Sill movie.

Anyway, I guess that's pretty much my Sunday. Guess it's back to work tomorrow.

It's Friday.... NOT SO FAST, MISTER!!!!

Don't you just love it, when it's Friday and it's almost time to go and something or someone comes up with a late project. Gotta love that, don't you? Yes, you do. :)

Would you like Fry's with that?

Man, every time I go into Fry's Electronics, I just get tempted to buy all kinds of things. I went in there today to buy an SD memory card for my wife's camera, and just the walk to the cards, I had to stop a few times. By the way, these cards are really cheap. I was tempted to buy me a 16GB for $30, for my camera. Then on my way to the checkout line, I stopped another few times. That is one store that I can lose hours and hours in, just thinking about the things I would love to have. That and Gamestop. :)

Recap on the meeting

We chose where the cable and phone outlets were going to go.

Yup, that's pretty much it. The rest he was talking to us about structure stuff and time tables and his policies, and showed us how our home will be on the lot. He was a really cool dude, but I just hated going all he way out there just for that little bit of info. Well, the meeting lasted a lot longer, but that was the more important things. He went over everything that we upgraded. I mean, I guess it was needed, but still. Whatever.

Another meeting....

So yesterday Erin and I met with the design center people to choose our colors and other things that will be going in the house. It wasn't too bad, but it wasn't the most exciting thing in the world to me. I know Erin enjoyed it and at least she did. I'm happy that she was happy. I did get to choose something on my own, and that's the faucets! I didn't want the standard acrylic ones, because I thought they looked a bit "apartment-ish", so I wanted to change that to some nicer ones. I am a bit proud. So if you ever come by and visit the home, when you decide to wash your hands in our bathroom, just know....... that was all me! But anyway, I'm going off topic here, today we have a meeting with the builder. In all honesty, I really don't know why. What does he have to tell us? Just build the house!!! Hopefully, we won't have another "meeting" until it's time to close. I'm crossing my fingers at least.

Skate 2

So I was convinced by a certain someone that this game was worth getting, even just for the fun of it. So I stopped in my local game stop and traded in some games, and I decided to go ahead and get it. It was a lot of fun. Alan and I probably got about 5 hours or more of this in. Just doing nothing, but just skating around and acting retarded. Too much fun. We're hoping that we get some more people from our SOCOM clan to join up with us. Either way, it's still tons of fun. And I know nothing about skating, or even know how to. Here are some clips that I uploaded.

Pretty cool:

Starship Poopers

So I'm a fan of the movie Starship Troopers. Don't know if you've ever seen it, but if you're into Sci-Fi and war, great movie to see. About a week ago I tried to watch the second one, and I tell you it was bad. None of the original cast came back, and the acting was poor. Don't even get me started on the graphics. I find myself watching part three right now. A bit of improvement, but still not impressed. Main character is back, but graphics are still weak. Erin is sitting here watching it too, but she's not impressed either. I guess we'll see if I make it through the whole movie, cause I didn't with the second one.

Shouldn't have...... but I did anyway.

Yup, you guessed it. Just ate a Bacon Ultimate Cheeseburger from Jack In The Box. I know, I know.... shame on me. Whatever. I was good so shush it!

Craving food.....

You know, sometimes I wonder what makes us crave certain foods? Like right now, I'm craving chicken fried steak or some really good fries like from Wing Stop. I don't know why, I just am. Of course, I'll eat anything right now, cause I'm starving. But I just wonder what is it in us that makes us yearn for that particular something? It's so weird and amazing at the same time.

Anyway, this morning I woke up feeling pretty dizzy and I thought I was going to throw up. Luckily I didn't and I'm feeling much better now.

Today Denny's was giving away a free Grand Slam Breakfast to everyone from 6 AM to 2 PM. I really wanted to go, but no one else wanted to. Well, one of my co-workers did, but we can't go together alone, cause of work policies. Oh well. Maybe next time I guess. I'll just eat my soup.
