What will your last tweet be?

Yesterday morning we received some news that a local pastor from a sister church had died. I won't go into any details about who or what, but first my heart goes out to the family and of course to all the friends and church. You know you think that someone like a pastor would be far from anything close to taking their own lives. But that just shows you how easy Satan can get to any of us an our weakest times. It was a bit weird, cause I was looking at some of his last tweets that I found online, and the last one was on the 24th and still then, he was glorifying God. Makes you wonder what your last tweet or facebook comment, or blog post will be about when your time comes. It could be today, or tomorrow, or 60 years from now. God only knows. But it does make me think. What have I wasted my life on?

My new home...

So today was the first "REAL" day to use our new home. We started moving in since Thursday, and that was pretty much the whole weekend, and even Sunday cause it was finishing installing a new garage door opener. That was REAL task! A pain, literally and figuratively speaking. Today we woke up for work and went through a day there and came back home. It was weird after work, not driving home to the apartment. I had almost forgot not to go the other way. But it was nice knowing that I was actually going to come "home". Our home.

Got home and changed and then I started to remove some dead limbs from the two small trees we have outside that came with the house. They were really getting on my nerves cause they were making my trees look half dead. After that, I began fertilizing the front lawn and shortly after that began watering it with several sprinklers and hoses. Came in helped Erin with some address changes, watched some tv, ate a little bit then went out to put away everything. Put away some towels and played a little bit of Rock Band then took a shower and here I am now. Good first day, except for the traffic coming home. Not cool. Hope it's not like that tomorrow. I guess we will see.

Wednesday, and already tired.

I'm so tired, and it's only Wednesday. I don't know exactly why. I haven't been able to get the best of rest in about a week, except for the past two days. I'm not sure why that's happening. It almost seems like when I try to go to bed early, I'll fall asleep eventually, but I'll be tossing and turning and waking up all night long. When I stay up late, I'll sleep through, but sometimes, not enough time. What can you do.

Rockets and Lakers are in the 2nd round of the playoffs right now. Lakers have the series 3-2, but I'm not sure of the Rockets will win the next one. Yao is out, but they didn't have Yao on game 4, and they still won, so I guess we will see. Can't really say that I'm a fan of the Rockets, or the NBA for the most part. Haven't been in a while. The game has changed quite a bit for me.

Yesterday's Migraine..... Tomorrow's Home

So yesterday, I had a horrible migraine when I woke up. I thought it was just a bad headache until I walked into the bathroom and into the light. Ouch! I hate it when I got those. For pretty much most of the day, I had to stay away from any bright lights or loud sounds. Not fun. An apartment full of video games and movies and I couldn't even enjoy them. :(

We're getting close to the closing of our house. It's getting there. They're pretty much done with everything, I think they're finishing it all up this week, including the carpet. We have our walk through on May 20th. Should be interesting. I find myself thinking about it more and more. It's just so hard to believe that I'm going to be a home owner. A bit surreal still. I guess it won't totally hit me, till we're moved in. Not looking forward to moving everything, but I'm gonna like it once we're moved.

Dragging Along

I'm so tired today. This week has been REALLY rough. I feel like I've been beat up. Cuts, bruises, burns you name it, I got it. Machines going down, not wanting to work properly. It's just REALLY been a mess. It is Friday, but the day is not over. Still have some things to finish, mostly just design, but I still have one more thing to finish up before I can stay away from these machines. They're driving me nuts. Even the folder now has gone bad. Apparently they need to do a thorough cleaning of the machine, and he'll be back on Monday.

And my truck is now making a squeaking noise. I tried putting some WD40 on the rotating parts near the belt. That didn't work. Then I tried some belt dressing, that seemed to help a little bit, but not all the way. So during my lunch break (yay!) I gotta go to Autozone and buy me a new belt. When I get home I'm going to replace it and see if that does it. If not, I will have to take it in the shop to see what's wrong with it.

I'm ready to go home now.

Is it Friday yet?

Man, this week just feels off. So many things just going on. Tuesday we almost get flooded in over here. The water was covering the streets so we couldn't get out of our apartment complex. It even covered a lot of the parking lot. Crazy stuff. Didn't get in to work till around noon. That threw my whole day off and my week too.

So many people at work seem to be getting sick. Bronchitis, flu.... you name it. Crazy. I had a headache earlier, and still sort of due, but I was even feeling a bit weak and shaky as well when I was here at home. I don't know what all that was about.

Looking forward for this weekend. I know it'll fly by fast too, but still, just want to wake up late!!! Tomorrow and Friday I know will be busy printing days at work. What can you do.

Working @ home

How fun is that? Lol. Coming home from a day of design, and working on design. What can you do, sometimes you got to suck it up and just do it. I was working on our E&P Designs website. I was adding new MetaTags and Keywords and a description to help when people search for us, or even visit our site. I also change the horrific splash page that I had for montoyainc.com. I have to finish our portfolio and also need to start working on my personal site now. Hopefully, I'll get motiviated like I did today to do this more often. Guess we'll see!

This is a test...

So this is a test to see if I'm able to post from an e-mail. Let's see if it works!

The drama continued.....

So just before I was getting ready to go to bed, they started drinking across the way and the girl that was getting into an argument was getting more and more wasted. Soon, they were out on the balcony and talking so loud again. Then she starting screaming across the way toward her apartment from the balcony, "I LOVE YOU!!!!". Man, seriously. Just a little while ago, they looked like there were going to scalp one another, and now she's madly in love with him again. It's amazing the things alcohol can do. :) So that went on, and I went to bed. What a beautiful sound to fall asleep to. Drunk, slurry girl telling her boyfriend that just cussed her out a million times how much she loves him. I don't even know if he was even awake anymore, cause there was no response. What can you do. I tell you what I'm gonna do, wait impatiently for our house to get done so we can get out of here.

Headache's gone and ready to get this day kicked off. Although my head does feel a bit full, like slight pressure. Nothing too bad, but just feels weird. Well, I'm sure it's nothing. Good day!

Headache....... and neighbors.

I got this headache that won't go away. I just hope it doesn't turn into a migraine. I hate those, cause I can't even look at a screen or light or anything. Hopefully, once I go to bed, it will be gone in the morning.

My neighbors that are wall to wall with us, were arguing a while. First I heard them screaming at each other outside. The neighbors across the walkway were out there with them, probably trying to be the wall in between them. Then the guy's cussing up a storm and walks away into his apartment and slams the door. The girl walks the other way towards the pool, and I later see that she is in a swimsuit and her hair is all wet. But it's like past 11 PM already, so I don't know what's up with that, since the pool is already closed. So anyway, I can hear him slamming doors and whatever else he could probably get his hands on. Then it gets a bit quiet. Then they're outside again, and I'm hearing him say, "Don't start that! Don't start that!". Then the go back in there apartment and are arguing. I go in the bedroom and lean against the wall to listen. I know, I'm nosey, but whatever! I can't really hear anything, all I hear is the sliding door open and close, and him saying something like, "Don't go out the window..... don't go out the window!". Lol. I don't know what that was all about. I think if I'm correct, they live on the second floor. So then they're arguing again and I hear him saying something about the pool. But then he's like, "I just wanna talk! That's it..... I just wanna talk!". So then they calm down a bit and right now, it seems that they're cool now. Who knows. I can't wait till we get our home, so we don't have to worry about wall to wall neighbors. :)

1 Day Weekend

Well, at least that's what my 3 day weekend felt like. I can't believe how quick the weekend flew by. Now it's back to work.

Got a chance to play some Resident Evil on Saturday. I think I started playing around 8 or so, and didn't got to bed until 3 AM. Nice. Lol. I was really trying to beat the game, but I couldn't finish the very last boss. I had to fight him like 3 different times. It started to get annoying, cause it was like, "Why won't you just DIE!!!!". Lol. I was expecting him to pop up again for some reason even when the credits were rolling. No joke. That's exactly what it felt like. Like a bit too overdone with that. Whatever. So I went to bed a bit frustrated, cause I couldn't beat him. A big part of the problem was because of my partner who is controlled by the AI. It would have been so much easier had she stayed on one side of him and I the other, but no, she wants to follow right behind me the whole time. I can tell you this much, this game would have been so much easier had I played it with another person. Anyway, so I wake up the next morning and we're getting all ready to leave to go spend some time with Erin's family for Easter and I'm like, "Let me try one more time, before we leave". So I did and I'm almost dead when I get the final shot off on thim and it starts to go in to cinematics, which you pretty much you killed him. I was like, "Thank you, Jesus!" and Erin responded from the kitchen, "Did you just thank Jesus for beating a game?". What can I say. :) Even on the closing cinematic he pops up again and I have to quickly push buttons to shoot him. I was like "Seriously!?!?! Just DIE!!!". Geez. That game took a lot out of me. But it was a good game. Excellent graphics and I'm it would have been so much more fun with a "real" partner.

I'm starting to see previews for NCAA Football and Madden 2010. Sweet. Can't wait. Getting cravings to play already!

Easter Madness!!

So tomorrow is Good Friday and we will have the day off. Thanks Sugar Creek! But of course, with a day off, comes a day less to work. Which means, 5 days of work have to be crammed into 4 days. So you can imagine the madness. I stayed until 9:30 PM last night trying to get a lot done, and thankfully my beautiful wife came in to keep me company. Thanks, love! It's about 4:20 PM now, and it's finally got a bit calm. Of course, that's no guarantee that people won't come in here in between now and 5:30 PM and ask for last minute jobs. Hopefully not, but if they do, at least it's calm and quiet now.

Still playing SOCOM. We finished our season VII last week and I'm already looking forward to our next one. Still haven't beat Resident Evil 5. That game takes a lot out of me, so I just play it a little at a time. I have been getting back into FIFA 09 game. That's been a lot of fun. I guess I'm a seasonal person. Soccer season is getting underway here in the MLS so it gets me in the mood to play. I'm already starting to see things about NCAA Footbal 2010 and MADDEN 2010. Man, I'm ready for football season to start already!

Busy..

SUPER busy week. And to top it off, it's a short week. I pray that things run smoothly.

Tuesday.....might as well be Monday.

The weekend seems so far away. This week has not started off as hectic as last week, and I'm hoping it stays that way. I had a good weekend with my wife. Last night she had a rough day at work, as she has been lately. Very frustrating for her. So we sat around and did nothing but just watch TV and enjoy each others company.

Got a meeting today @ 3PM. Hope it goes by fast as always and just makes the time go by super fast. Ready to go home. How bout you?

Server Issues

Man, today was not the ideal day to work. Our server here at work was going in and out and just working really slow. I don't know why, but it too so long just to do a certain project. It really slowed us down here. They've been looking into it and hopefully tomorrow, it will be a different story. Cross your fingers, people!

Taco Bell

Just had two burritos from the .89 menu at Taco Bell. Yum. That's all. :)

Too busy to blog.

Yup.... you better believe it. So much going on right now here at work. Working on two message series at a time, which is pretty tough to juggle so much and other little jobs coming in here and there. Hopefully, I'll get them all done this week though. That would be great. I guess we will see what happens. Right now, I just have to make sure that I have a good stock of gum. Helps keep the nerves down. :)

Slow Down!

I feel like I'm going 100MPH right now. Trying to be cool and calm, but it doesn't help when you have retarded machines. It also doesn't help that I'm so hungry. I feel like I have an endless list of things that I have to do. Even when I tackle one, it seems like two more sprout up. What can you do.

Wanna know what gets me!?!?!?!

Yesterday on my way to work, the guy in front of me opens his driver door and drops some paper trash on the floor. Then he opens it again and throws out another piece of trash. This is where you wish the whole video game were a real thing, cause I would so go GTAIV on them and get out and open their door and make them pick up that trash with his teeth!!! Sorry, but it really gets to me when people are so lazy and just throw trash out like that. Like you can't wait till you get to where ever it is that you're going and throw it in a trash can there? I bet those are the same losers that complain about how dirty our roads and highways are. Grrr.... GTAIV mode and just slam into them. :)

Another thing that really bugs me, is when people are turning under a freeway/highway and they don't stay on their side of the dashed line. That line exists for a reason!!! Yesterday a tard lady almost hit me cause she started turning onto my side of the dashed line. I'm all honking at her and she got all scared and moved over all the way. Lol. That was funny. But seriously, why can't people stay on their side of the dashed line? Do they not know what it's there for?

And another thing, when you have a green light and it says, "LEFT TURN YEILD ON GREEN", that means that when it's a green light and there is on coming traffic, THEY HAVE THE RIGHT AWAY!!!! I was coming to a grean light and I was turning right and the tard coming from the other direction turns at the same time so I have to slam on my brakes just to avoid slamming into him. Grr....

Sorry, just had to vent.

The Chainsaw Man

So I was playing some RE5 today and I got to the level with the chainsaw guy. Not fun. This guy was so freaking hard to kill and he just keeps coming at you. One time that he gets you and you're done. I died twice and had to replay that part. I even quit the game, but quickly got back on and had to beat it. Lol. So needless to say, I got past that part. Thank goodness. Nothing worse than getting to a part of a game that you really like and can't get past it. Soon it just gets added to the games somewhere in the back. Lol. Never finished.

We went out to see the house again. It's moving pretty quick. It's been raining all morning, and just stopped around 3 PM. It's still overcast and very gloomy. Just makes me want to crawl in bed and fall asleep. It was actually hailing when I woke up this morning. It was pretty intense for like 10 minutes and then it just stopped. Really weird.

Man, I can't believe it's already 6:20 PM. Gonna be time to head back to work already. Weekends always go by so quick. I guess anytime that you get to just rest does. What can you do. That's father time for you.

Sleep. Sleep. Sleep.

So I woke up around 2:30 PM. Yes, you read it correctly and no it was not a typo..... I say again.... 2:30 PM. Why? Well, for one thing I didn't go to bed till 3 AM. I was playing some Killzone 2 online. And second.... it's Saturday!!! Come on.... how many chances do we get to sleep in like that. I don't think I've slept that late since back when I was in high school. Wow. Good stuff though. Don't regret it at all.

So it's about 8:50 PM and I still haven't played my Resident Evil 5. I popped it in earlier and it was a lot of setup which almost took 20 to 30 minutes downloading... installing... then more installing.... setup..... I started cleaning and then I was like, "Forget this... I'm going to clean more". Turned it off. Hopefully, the next time I actually do want to play RE5, it'll be ready to jump in. Seriously.

Watched two movies. Max Payne and Burn After Reading. Max Payne was okay, but wasn't as good as I expected. Bad acting by Ludacris, and I've seen better from Marky Mark. And Burn After Reading should be called Burn After Watching. Horrible movie. Horrible. Don't even bother wasting time on this thing. I thought it was going to be a funny movie. Two chuckles is what came out of me. I was bored by the first 10 minutes. Three thumbs down. You catch my drift?

Resident Evil 5

That's right.... it comes out today......... whoop whoop! I've been waiting for this game since like last year when they announced it. I know, it's sad.... what can I say. I'm a gamer. I know what I'll be doing tonight..... after our tournament match of course! :)

Days Like This

It's days like today (cold & wet) that don't make me miss my first job. I used to work at a container storage yard and I was the interchange clerk/inspector. I inspected every piece of equipment (containers and chasis) that came through our gates. And when it was cold, windy and wet like this, it was heck. The metal would be slippery and I would slip and hit my shins on the metal edges, my fingers would get too cold to write, cause I couldn't wear gloves to write and grip the paper. Your hands would hurt and you hit them and the metal door hinges. The wind would blow the water on my interchanges/receipts so everything would get wet and soggy. It would puddle a lot under the port so you would come home with cold wet socks. Man...... that was pretty bad. The good thing was I worked for some really great people. I do miss them a alot.

Grr....

Don't you just hate it when you need a certain website and it just goes down all of a sudden? Been working just fine this morning, now it just wants to quit on me. What's up with that? Something needs to happen..... let's move it iStock!!!

Must..... sleep....

I feel like those few days that I was sick and unable to sleep are catching up with me now. I'm so tired and restless. I could literally put my head on the desk and probably fall asleep now. I'm sure the weather outside is not helping. It's all dark, gloomy and wet. I really don't mind it, I kind of miss seeing weather like this. It seems like it's been so long since we've had a really hard rain or thunderstorm through here. I can't really remember when that was. It's just barely sprinkling right now, but I guess something's better than nothing.

Went out to the house last night and took some photos. The house is coming along really quick. They have the roof up, outside walls up and most of the windows. They even had one of the tubs installed. I wanted to run in there so bad and lay down in it and take a picture, but there were still two workers there and I didn't want them to think I was a tard. Plus, there were some wet spots all around, so I just stayed on the outside.

Did I mention I could fall asleep right now?

Back In Da Cube.

Back to work for me. I've been feeling so nasty these past few days and my wife too. I'm back at work now, and even though I'm still about 60% right now, it's a lot better than where I was a couple of days back. Hopefully, this will all be gone VERY soon. I hope Erin gets better too, cause she was feeling and still is a bit.

I got word from my mom that one of my cousin's in Mexico died yesterday. Complications with surgery and other stuff, but I won't go into details. I don't like to hear my mom cry. My cousins and I from Mexico used to be a bit close when we were little and would always play when we would go visit them. Back then, it was more often cause times weren't so bad over there. I don't even remember the last time I saw him. I just pray for my aunt, who is now going to be watching over his kids. My heart and prayers go out to all of them.

I did have a little bit of time to do something productive. I actually got our site up and running. I only had a little bit to do, but it was something that was holding us back. But now I got it up. Now I just have to work on our portfolio.

Something else, I beat Resistance. I only had a few more levels to go, and I was able to finish it. Don't think I'll be getting Resistance 2 just yet. Resident Evil 5 is coming out this Friday, so I know that will be occupying my time. Maybe after that, I'll get it. But for now, I'll focus on RE5.

I will going out to take some pictures of the house today after work. Erin usually goes and does this, but today she will be at the Rodeo with her friend who invited her to go see Reba. At least I'll get a preview of what my drive home will be in the future. We'll see how that goes.

Friday, March 06, 2009

It is Friday.

Today is Friday, and even though I know that this weekend will not be a relaxed one, I'm ready for it. Last night we went to a bar inside the loop called "The Lot". My sister-in-law, Heather works there and she invited us all to come on by on their opening night. I really didn't know what to expect because of the area that it was in. When I used to live in town, it was not the nicest place. They've done wonders to that area now, and the bar was awesome. I loved the whole feel of the place and the atmosphere. And that's coming from a guy that never goes to bars. Lol.

Tonight we'll be hanging with my cousin and a few of our high school buddies, before he heads out on Monday to Fort Hood where he will be stationed at. Probably gonna go eat at his parents then go out bowling.

Tomorrow we'll be at a cousin's son's birthday party for the midday/afternoon. Don't know what we will do later on. We had wanted to go see the Watchmen movie, but I don't know if that will happen now. We will probably go see the stage of the house too before we go to the birthday party.

Sunday we'll have church and probably be cleaning if it doesn't get done on Saturday. I have a clan match that night too. Hopefully I'll be able to squeeze in more video game time than just that over the weekend. Very eventful weekend.

Tengo hambre!

I'm hungry! That's what the title means, in case your asking. It's around 1:30 PM and I'm just barely going to be taking my lunch break. I have coupons for JITB, so I'm thinking I might go there. Still not sure, I guess I will see.

Man, I'm hurting more today that yesterday. Not cool. It hurts to rollover in bed. Lol. I mean, I know it's good that it's hurting cause that means that my muscles are actually getting a work out, but when it hurts to reach for something, it's not too much fun.

Pasta again?

So this past Sunday my lovely wife, Erin made a past dish using some deer sausage that my parents gave us. It was very good. We had quite a bit left over, so I've been bringing it to work with me for the past 3 days. 4 days in a row of pasta. I think it's time for a change tomorrow. Lol. It's still really tasty as it has been, but you know, your taste buds are craving a bit of variety. I've even gotten a bit tired of pizza. Yes, I said it, pizza. I need variety and I kept bringing mini pizzas for work. Now I'm all pizza'd out! My friend Stephanie here at work is at JITB (Jack In The Box....seriously, get with the lingo here!) and she's getting herself a teriyaki bowl. I wonder if it's any good. I might go tomorrow or Friday to get me one. We have coupons. Coupons are good.

It hurts

Yesterday I got home and it just seemed like it was a mess. So I started putting away some things and cleaned the kitty litter and washed the dishes. Then I vacumed the living room area and everything felt a lot nicer. The cats have this scratch pad that's made out of cardboard and they love to scratch it. The only thing is, that stuff eventually finds its way all over the carpet all spread through the whole living area. It's a mess. And it's a world of a difference when we vacum all that up, cause the floor looks so clean. It's rare, but I have my cleaning moments like that. I folded all my clothes that I've been slowly washing as well. I felt accomplished yesterday. Unfotunately, by the time I did all that and then worked out, I was a bit tired. Didn't even get a chance to play any video games. Oh well. There's always today or tomorrow. That's the good thing about video games. They're always there ready and waiting for you. Man, I don't even know the last time I did pushups but man, am I sore today. I'm not even going to say I struggled to do last night, cause quite frankly, it's very embarrassing. I need to get back to doing more of that stuff as well as running. Cause running alone isn't going to cut it for me.

Well, I got quite a bit to do here at work, so I'd better get back to that. It's not like it's a lot of projects, just big projects that will require some time to get some ideas flowing and working. Time to dive in.

Killzoning it online!!

So last night I decided I would give Killzone 2 online a try, but my online buddy Colt, (Alan). It was a lot of fun. I didn't know what to expect, because I've had bad luck playing online in public rooms with random people. It helped tons that I had Colt there with me, but it was still a fun experience. I was able to mute everyone else and not hear the random chatter going on, which was great, especially in the lobby area. Needless to say, I will be back online to play me some Killzone again soon.

This morning, I seem to hit every single light and some even had to wait through twice. Yay! Not really. I was afraid that I was going to have to miss this morning, cause last night right before I was going to go to bed, my stomach was hurting pretty bad. I took some medicine that didn't seem to take right away, but I think I'm just fine now. :) Good thing too, cause I would have hated to have missed work and been at home all day. I mean, what would I have done..... all I have are video games and movies there. :)

Cowboy Burrito

So I was chatting with my wife a little while ago about buying some tickets to the Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo. And now all of a sudden I'm craving a cowboy burrito. If you don't know what this is, you HAVE to go to at least the Livestock show in Houston, which is going on right now. One of the first food stands you come up to on the East side of the place, sells these burritos that has all the good stuff inside and it's big enough to fill you up too! I'm so craving it now..... wish I had one in my hands. "Slurp"

I Killzoned ....... 2

So last night I stared playing Killzone 2 after watching a couple of movies with my beautiful wife around nine something at night. I didn't go to bed till around 1:30 AM. I beat the game and must admit, was a little exhausted about it. That was a pretty intense game. Lol. But it was a lot of fun, and the game lived up the the hype if you ask me. I still haven't played the online mode, which I'm a little afraid to, since I don't have all of my clan on there, and I'm not a fan of the public rooms. I guess we'll see what happens. To be honest playing that game, made me crave to play Call of Duty 4. It reminded me a lot of it, since it was pretty intense and fun like that. A lot of non stop action.

So after yesterday with all the war going on my tv set and all the scratches I ended up with, I felt like I can back from battle. Lol. We went to go see our house yesterday. Well, what they have up. Which is only the framing for the foundation they will be pouring on Tuesday. Still didn't look like a house and it looked a bit small. But I guess once we start seeing some walls and rooms it'll actually look like a house. But getting out of the car I scraped my leg on a metal stake in the ground. Didn't tear through the pant, but it still managed to break the skin. Oh well. What can you do. That's just the way it is sometimes. :)

Killzone 2

Okay, so this morning I wake up a little premature. Last night we went out with the in laws to a club. We got home late of course and we pretty much went to bed as soon as we got home. In the morning my wife gets a call from her friend and I wake up at the sound of the phone, and after that, can't seem to fall back asleep. Bummer. So I get up to take a shower and after I'm done, my wife asks me to come into the living room. So I do, and she's telling me that Spike is freaking her out. He's staring up at the ceiling corner where we have one of those Japanese sphere things. She tells me to pick him up and see what he does. So I do and Spike reaches up towards it and he yanks at it and it pulls then retracts back really quickly scaring him. He immediately claws my collar and jumps off of me, scratching me on my collar area and back. I can't tell you how much it hurt and burned. Not exactly the way I wanted to start the morning.

After a bit, Erin and I ate some breakfast and then watched The Office. After that, I was able to get into my new game, Killzone 2. Super awesome game. The graphics are great, the play is great. It's a very intense game. It reminds me a lot like Call Of Duty 4. Another great game. Can't really tell how far along I am, but it's really hard to put down the controller. Hopefully, I'll be able to finish this game before March 17, cause Resident Evil 5 comes out them. :)

7 States in 2 Days

So my wife drops me off at the airport Friday night for my flight to Seattle, Washington. I know I tried my best not to start crying, and I could see it in her eye. Can't even tell you how hard it was to push that back and fight the knot in my throat. But I made my way into the airport and straight to the security check, and the lady checking ID's knew something was wrong. She must have seen my sad face, cause she asked me if I was okay. So after that I'm getting ready to put my bag on the moving belt, and I see a guy taking out his laptop and I'm thinking to myself, "Man, I'm glad that I didn't have to bring my laptop and only my...... wait....... MY CAMERA!!!!!" I had forgotten my camera. I can't even begin to tell you how angry and disappointed I was in myself for that. Erin offered to turn around and bring hers to me, but she was already on her way back. So disappointing. So I bought myself a slice of pizza and a bottle of water and I sit and wait for my plane to arrive. While I'm waiting there was a group of kids, maybe around 15 - 20 kids all with their school shirts on, which I'm assuming were either returning or going on a trip. I'm thinking, "Great, what a great setup for a tragic plane accident. A group of kids on a field trip." So I board the plane and I put my head phones on and off we are.

WASHINGTON
The trip didn't seem too long and it was good to see my cousin waiting when I got there. As soon as we got in the car, we were off on our trip. I can't really say much about the State of Washington, cause I didn't get to see much of it, since it was already dark. I did see downtown from the plane and it was very nice, especially with the needle. I did however catch the smell of some of the refineries there, which smelled like brand new rubber tires. Nice.

OREGON
The first half of Oregon I missed cause I was half asleep trying to catch some rest before it was my turn to drive. I did however get to catch the sunrise and the beautiful green mountains covered with pure white snow. Gorgeous scenery. I also learned that in Oregon, you're not allowed to pump your own gas. Very strange. We stopped and the man filled us up, and my Cousin told me that you can even give them tips. And I'm like, "For what? Pulling the trigger on the hose and stand there to talk to you?"

CALIFORNIA
Okay, so we drove the Northeastern part of California so it wasn't "fun in the sun". It was the cold, snowy mountains. It was still quite nice, but we had to take a different highway to Reno, cause the original highway we were gonna take was snowed in. The high way was really cool looking cause all the snow that had been plowed was all along the edges of the roadway. And when you would reach the area where there were lakes there was nothing but white covering the ground. What's so special about that? Well, you're talking about a Texas boy that doesn't get to see much of snow, and when we do, it rarely makes it to the ground in it's white form.

NEVADA
Once we mad it to Reno, we met up with my two buddies, Alan and Adam. It was really good to meet them in person and we ate at a local place. 50 wings. Really good stuff, cause they weren't small, they were almost full size. Good stuff. We chatted and ate and joked about all kinds of things. Really cool couple of guys, you should actually catch them on Adam's show. www.theadamvarashow.com . So after that, we made our way down to Las Vegas. When we reached there, it was late night. Have you ever driven at night and as you're coming up to the city you can start to see the city lights? Okay, well nothing compares to the City of Las Vegas. It was amazing. We were really tired and decided to stop and rest, but we didn't want to stop in Vegas cause we figured it would be too expensive. We stopped right after it right before the Hoover Dam. We stayed in a little motel, which was so ghetto. In the shower there was used bar of soap, broken in half, an open and used pack of shampoo, and a use and still wet wash cloth. Nice. Thank God my wife packed my stuff that I needed already. There were so many other things I could just go on about this place, but I would rather not. It was a mess, and I hope I never have to stay there again. We slept for about 5 hours and we were off again around 6 AM.

ARIZONA
We crossed over Hoover Dam and it was pretty cool. I'm sure you probably have walk it to get the full effect, cause it wasn't all that driving over it. Arizona was okay, nothing too special. I will tell you this, a warning to everyone, do not drive over the speed limit!!! The speed limit was 75 MPH, and the guy pulls us over and says, "I got you doing 77 to 79 in a 75 zone". I thought to myself, "You have to be kidding me!!!" What can you do. He did let us off with a warning, and we just kept on our way. The one memorable thing from AZ was in Phoenix we were on I-10 and we went in the tunnel. That was pretty cool. That was about it. We went from sweaters and hoodies to taking those off from North to South.

NEW MEXICO
I don't know if you've evern seen the map of New Mexico, but there is this little piece at the very bottom that sticks out. Yup, that's all we saw of New Mexico. We passed through Las Cruces, which seemed like we stopped in a rough neighborhood. We stopped stretched our legs, used the restroom, got some candy and headed right back out.

TEXAS
It's always good to be back in Texas. Soon, we were already in El Paso, which is a big city. It seemed like it took forever to drive through it. But we finally made it out and we made our way back home to Houston on I-10. It was late night to morning, so there wasn't any traffic at all, which was great. We made a few stops during this, but to be honest the toughest time through this whole trip was from San Antonio. I wanted to keep driving, but I just couldn't anymore. My cousing took the wheel and as we're driving into Houston, the sun starts to irratate his eyes and he keeps splashing water on his face to help out. We ended up catching traffice hour here, so we got stuck in that for a bit. We finally got home around 8:30 AM and we both crashed out. He only waited a couple of hours before taking off again, but he said those two hours of sleep really helped a whole lot. I woke up to let him out and I decided to take a nice long shower and ate a banana before going right backt bed. I didn't wake up till my beautiful wife returned from work. I didn't have any trouble going to sleep around 10:00 PM.

All in all, I had a blast with my cousin. We caught up on so much and just talked about so many different things. But it was a VERY tiring trip. I'm still tired now. It was really awesome being able to experience that. I wish we could have had more time, but it was really great, regardless.

Lowest Price... GURANTEED!!!

You ever see that on a commercial? Sometimes I wish I could go to a place like that and be like, "Well, Walmart is selling it for this price". Then when they lowered it, I'd call up Walmart and just go back and forth with them and eventually get me an XBOX 360 and a Wii for $2. :) Hey, it could happen. They'll keep fighting back and forth lowering their prices. I'll be sitting there smiling as it does.

It's Friday, it would be nice to get out of here early. The parking lots were a bit bare this morning here. I mean, they usually are on Fridays, but today they were extra bare. :)

That's what she said.

So for the past few days I've been watching The Office. Man, it's super funny. I've seen a few episodes here and there, but lately I've been watching the Seasons. Super funny. I don't know what I would do if I had to walk in an office like that. I think I would probably be Jim on the office. Cause Dwight would so be on my list. Lol. Michael is such a dork too. I don't know if I could work under someone like him though. There are a couple of other people on there that would so get on my last nerve, and some that I would just totally avoid.

I wish I was at home right now. Doing nothing. Nothing at all. Maybe playing video games or watching movies with my lovely wife. Either is good, as long as we're both home together. :)

Skating with the Coltmeister

Last night before I went to bed, I decided to play some Skate2 online with my good online friend Alan, or as I first new him, "Colt". I said I would only play one hour, and ended up play for 2 and a half hours. Here is some footage of last night when I skated the wall. And there's another from a while back where I some how managed to jump over Colt. Don't ask how that happened, it just did. Probably couldn't do it again. :) Enjoy.

Sleepy....

I don't know why, but I didn't get any rest last night. I was tossing and turning all night. I really hate that. I woke up feeling so restless. I'm still feeling it now, and I'm sure it won't go away. Just thought I'd share that with the world. Lol. Or should I say, the two people who read this. Maybe even three... maybe. :)

Oh yea, I forgot to mention that it's overcast outside, so that's not helping. The sun needs to hurry about and come out, and make everything bright and sunny and happy!!!

Street Fighter!!!

Street Fighter comes out tomorrow! Woohoo! I have not played that game since Street Fighter 2. Good times. I hope it's the same type of game play. Speaking of Street Fighter, I saw a new trailer for the new Street Fighter movie, the one with Chun Li. Should be exciting. Looked like a good movie. I hadn't seen much of it until recently and it's coming out on the 27th. Weird.

Today, the movie Quarantine comes out. I'm debating whether to go get it or not. It looks like a good movie, but I have been let down too many times before when it comes to horror movies. I guess we'll see what happens.

UFC........

Sitting here watching a UFC special on SPIKE TV. It amazes me how much these guys train. I guess you have to when the guy across the octagon is wanted to knock you out, or put you into submission until you tap out or pass out. Some people say this is brutal and how can anyone watch them do that to one another. They special is about Diego Sanchez vs Joe Steven, part of the countdown to UFC 95. According to this commercial, it's free on SPIKE. I will have to watch this one. I never get to watch these cause they're usually Pay Per View. Saturday and 9PM. Check it out, don't miss it!

Okay, I just saw a commercial for the SLIM CLIP. Lol. They showed a guy sitting down with his super messy wallet half way out of his back pocket and he hurts his back. Lol! I'll admit, sometimes my wallet can be uncomfortable, depending on what I'm wearing, but I have never hurt my back like that. Losers.

A little bit worse...

Seems like my headache just got a bit worse. I really hope this goes away. I had a slight headache yesterday too. It's just carrying on. Staring at this big screen doesn't really help, either. But what can you do? It's like telling a surgeon he can't use his hands! :)

I got a paper cut on my finger. It hurts. Not just from paper either, it's from foam board. Ouchie. Those are the injuries from a graphic designer. Lol. No twisted ankles or broken bones. Just paper cuts and headaches. Oh, and the occasional sore fingers. It's just something we have to risk for the job. :)

Mondays..... blah.

Mondays, why do we hate them so much? I mean, is it their fault that they are the first of the work week? I mean, if Mondays were our Sundays, would we hate Mondays so much? Would Tuesdays be the one's we hate the most? Poor Mondays. I know one of the reasons why I don't like Mondays is because my weekends are mostly spent with my wife, and we have such a great time, and it's hard to be away once you've spent two great days with one another.

I guess it also doesn't help that I'm feeling a little weird today. I have a weird headache, like a pressure headache. It doesn't hurt too much, it's more like my head feels really full. I just hope it gets better before it gets worse. I'm also feeling a bit hot and weak. Don't know where all of this is coming from. Really weird.

Last night, we lost our match on SOCOM. Oh well. Maybe next time. Control points are really not our thing. Well, I know it's not really my thing.

Your Adversary The Devil

This is the title of the current message series that Sugar Creek Baptist Church is going through right now. Today was probably one of the best so far of the series. Pastor Mark talked about Angels. And he told stories and accounts of people having come in contact with Angels, and it makes me wonder if I have ever as well. Even if I don't see them, I just know that there have been times where I should have been in an accident, but it was by the grace of God that I didn't. I'm looking forward to next weekend already. If you would like to catch the series, either the past ones, or even watch it live on Sunday, I'll leave you with the links. It's worth it. It will open your eyes and hopefully, open your heart as well.

Happy Valentine's!!!

Okay, so it's technically not Valentine's Day anymore, but whatever. I'm still awake, so it still counts as the same day! I hope everyone's Valentine's Day was good. Mine was. We basically stayed home and watched movies all day. Sappy, love movies. Lol. Okay, so they weren't so bad. We started off with Ghostown. Good movie, funny British humor. Recommend it if you liked those movies like Shawn Of The Dead and Run Fat Boy Run. It kept me and my wife laughing. Next we watched was Nights In Rodanthe. Pretty good movie. A bit sad and depressing at times, but overall a good movie. After that we watched The Way We Were. Older movie that Erin wanted to watch, but it wasn't too bad. I was a bit scared going into that one. After that one, we topped it off with Meet Joe Black. I had never seen that movie and Erin said it was a must see. I liked it. Good movie. Very good role by Brad Pitt.

After that I downloaded the Resident Evil 5 demo and Erin actually played with me. It was bit tough to get used to the controls, cause it's been a long while since I've played a RE game, but it was fun. She was freaking out the entiring time, but I'm glad she at least tried it out with me. Can't wait till it comes out. I also played the Mirror's Edge demo and wasn't too impressed with it. I mean, the game itself looks great, but the whole concept just didn't really grasp me.

Oh yeah, the pizza was great. I got the meat lover's one, with pepperoni, sausage, ham and of course, BACON. It was really good. We decided to go with Papa John's since we've been having trouble with the customer service with our local Pizza Hut. It got here about twenty minutes late, a total of about an hour and ten minutes. Whatever, it was still a good one.

All in all, it was a good day, just spending it with my best friend. We even got some rain today, and some thunder. Great weather to just be inside and do nothing. Hope today doesn't go by too fast. I really just want to enjoy the weekend. Of course, tomorrow we have a tournament match on SOCOM. Hope that goes well. I guess we will see, since I didn't play today. Hope I'm not too rusty tomorrow. Sometimes, I go through slumps, which I have been this past week. Not good.

Is it 5:30 yet?!?!

Why is the time just dragging today? It's Friday, let's get a move on! I have a headache, and I hope I'm not getting sick again. Seems like we're passing it back and forth here at work.

I was working on ONE logo almost all day long. It's like I don't even want to look at that anymore!!! You know, sometimes you're on a roll, and sometimes, you can't think of anything.

It's raining out right now. How I wish I was at home laying down or just watching TV on the couch. This is the weather that is great for just staying in and chillin.

Tomorrow is V-Day! No, not Veteran's Day, Valentine's Day. We'll keep with our tradition of Pizza and a movie. It's so just us. We don't like to go out and party, and we enjoy our time with one another.

If I had a pillow and a blankie..... I'd be under my desk/cubicle right now. Crashed out.

You don't know where that's been!!!

So today my wife shows me this dollar bill she found on the floor, and might I add it looked a bit raggish. Here's what she tells me, "I feel bad for picking it up. I think I'll donate it to someone who needs it. I picked it up and some guy was looking at me all weird. What I'm I supposed to do, just leave it there? Should I have left it there?" And my response to her was, "Why? Someone else probably would have picked it up and taken it to a strip club. At least you're willing to give it to someone in need".

So that brought to mind, I wonder how many of these dollar bills that we handle all the time have been inside the panties of strippers. Think about it. My wife thought I was a bit weird, and I'll admit it was a bit of a weird thought, but it really made me wonder. Think about that next time you're getting change somewhere. Might wanna buy you some gloves there...... or visit a hospital, they have them laying around like crazy. :)

Grrr....

So we got Cammy back yesterday and you could tell that she was in pain and a bit depressed. It was sad to see her that way. She actually looked better than I expected, but it was tough to see her like that. She's such a crazy cat and always bouncing around, so it's a bit different to see her just laying there with that look on her face.

Then I got on SOCOM and it was a bit frustrating. For one, it seemed like everyone on my team for one of the matches were just running around not really having any strategy. Two, I couldn't hit anything!!! Three, I kept getting killed almost right off the bat, no matter where I went. And lastly, I got disconnected twice. The second time, I just gave up and logged off. That was enough for one day.

We're supposed to be going out to eat today with a few of us from work. One of our printer reps is taking 4 of us out. Nice. Of course, after me and my friend David here get done eating, she'll probably never want to take us out again. :) We'll put her in the poor house. JK. Well, hopefully it'll be good no matter what. I'm already getting hungry thinking about it. Yum yum.

The SOCOM itch.....

Every now and then I'll get the urge or itch to get on and play. Before last night, the last time I had played was Saturday night. I know, I know, what's the big deal. Well, for those of us who are addicted to SOCOM or any video game for that matter, we get it. Last night I got on, and I must say, it was great to get back on the battlefield. I know, my wife is probably going to come on here and say I'm a dork, but at least I know one person who's going to comment on here and say "AMEN!"

I'm In Da Cube!!!

So yesterday they finished putting up our new cubicle at work. "What's so special about a cubicle"? Well, my friends, we were on a table before. Not the most "creative" space you could be at. Now we have a cubicle where we can put our stuff at, and put up our work on our walls. I'm excited. It does give us more privacy than before, but that's not that big of a deal. I'm just glad to have space now. Actual personal space. Very nice!

So last night, I was flipping through stations, and I'm proud to say that I avoided going to TruTV. It was hard, but I did it. Instead, I was watching The Girls Next Door. I wonder what's going to happen to that show. I'm sure they might just find another set of girls, but will they cut it?

We took our little cat, Cammy into the vet to get fixed. Poor little baby. Spike, our other cat, was a bit confused this morning. Luckily, she'll only be in there for the day. Erin will pick her up on her way back from work. I know she'll be a bit weird for the first few days back from that. But I'm sure she'll just be glad to be home again.

Blame it on TruTV!!

So last night I didn't go to bed till 3:30 AM. Why? Because of TruTV!!! They had all these shows of real life crime scene investigations. I don't know why I like that stuff so much. It's just so interesting how the find these clues and evidence to nail these people. There are some really clever criminals out there, that probably would have got away, but it's the small things they over look and get them caught. Just amazing. I just know it's going to hit me aroudn 2 or 3 today. I'll just feel so "blah" and be dragging around here.

Anyway, other news, we're getting some cubicles installed in our room here. Very nice. I can't wait till it's up and we get to get in there. I have a box full of stuff that I'm just ready to start putting away. I don't have any room for it here on this table we're on right now.

Eagle Eye The Zohan!!

Man, I can't believe tomorrow is already Monday. Again. Why does the weekend go by so quick? It's not fair, really. Time is not fair. It does not pass the same on weekdays as it does on weekends. Whatever. So today, we watched the LIVE broadcast of the SCBC service. Erin wasn't feeling too well, so we decided to stay in today. Then we watched Eagle Eye, which turned out to be a pretty good movie. It's full of action sequences. Then we did all of our tax stuff, well we had to get all the information straight and in order to do our taxes. What a mess. Erin really did all the work, I was just there to support and help pull info from our files. Then after that, I watched Don't Mess With The Zohan. Good movie. It had quite a bit of funny scenes. After that, while I was washing and folding, I watched Resident Evil. I've already seen it, but I just thought I'd watch it again, for kicks. Good movie. I was tempted to watch the second one, but I decided not to, because of the time. Now I'm watching Kicking and Screaming on TBS. Sill movie.

Anyway, I guess that's pretty much my Sunday. Guess it's back to work tomorrow.

It's Friday.... NOT SO FAST, MISTER!!!!

Don't you just love it, when it's Friday and it's almost time to go and something or someone comes up with a late project. Gotta love that, don't you? Yes, you do. :)

Would you like Fry's with that?

Man, every time I go into Fry's Electronics, I just get tempted to buy all kinds of things. I went in there today to buy an SD memory card for my wife's camera, and just the walk to the cards, I had to stop a few times. By the way, these cards are really cheap. I was tempted to buy me a 16GB for $30, for my camera. Then on my way to the checkout line, I stopped another few times. That is one store that I can lose hours and hours in, just thinking about the things I would love to have. That and Gamestop. :)

Recap on the meeting

We chose where the cable and phone outlets were going to go.

Yup, that's pretty much it. The rest he was talking to us about structure stuff and time tables and his policies, and showed us how our home will be on the lot. He was a really cool dude, but I just hated going all he way out there just for that little bit of info. Well, the meeting lasted a lot longer, but that was the more important things. He went over everything that we upgraded. I mean, I guess it was needed, but still. Whatever.

Another meeting....

So yesterday Erin and I met with the design center people to choose our colors and other things that will be going in the house. It wasn't too bad, but it wasn't the most exciting thing in the world to me. I know Erin enjoyed it and at least she did. I'm happy that she was happy. I did get to choose something on my own, and that's the faucets! I didn't want the standard acrylic ones, because I thought they looked a bit "apartment-ish", so I wanted to change that to some nicer ones. I am a bit proud. So if you ever come by and visit the home, when you decide to wash your hands in our bathroom, just know....... that was all me! But anyway, I'm going off topic here, today we have a meeting with the builder. In all honesty, I really don't know why. What does he have to tell us? Just build the house!!! Hopefully, we won't have another "meeting" until it's time to close. I'm crossing my fingers at least.

Skate 2

So I was convinced by a certain someone that this game was worth getting, even just for the fun of it. So I stopped in my local game stop and traded in some games, and I decided to go ahead and get it. It was a lot of fun. Alan and I probably got about 5 hours or more of this in. Just doing nothing, but just skating around and acting retarded. Too much fun. We're hoping that we get some more people from our SOCOM clan to join up with us. Either way, it's still tons of fun. And I know nothing about skating, or even know how to. Here are some clips that I uploaded.

Pretty cool:

Starship Poopers

So I'm a fan of the movie Starship Troopers. Don't know if you've ever seen it, but if you're into Sci-Fi and war, great movie to see. About a week ago I tried to watch the second one, and I tell you it was bad. None of the original cast came back, and the acting was poor. Don't even get me started on the graphics. I find myself watching part three right now. A bit of improvement, but still not impressed. Main character is back, but graphics are still weak. Erin is sitting here watching it too, but she's not impressed either. I guess we'll see if I make it through the whole movie, cause I didn't with the second one.

Shouldn't have...... but I did anyway.

Yup, you guessed it. Just ate a Bacon Ultimate Cheeseburger from Jack In The Box. I know, I know.... shame on me. Whatever. I was good so shush it!

Craving food.....

You know, sometimes I wonder what makes us crave certain foods? Like right now, I'm craving chicken fried steak or some really good fries like from Wing Stop. I don't know why, I just am. Of course, I'll eat anything right now, cause I'm starving. But I just wonder what is it in us that makes us yearn for that particular something? It's so weird and amazing at the same time.

Anyway, this morning I woke up feeling pretty dizzy and I thought I was going to throw up. Luckily I didn't and I'm feeling much better now.

Today Denny's was giving away a free Grand Slam Breakfast to everyone from 6 AM to 2 PM. I really wanted to go, but no one else wanted to. Well, one of my co-workers did, but we can't go together alone, cause of work policies. Oh well. Maybe next time I guess. I'll just eat my soup.

Graphic Design?

I don't know if everyone has moments in their life/career where we question what we're doing with ourselves, and if what we're doing is really what we want to do? Are you confused yet? The other day, I didn't really have the best day, if you know what I mean. things just seem to go wrong and as the day went on, it only seem to pile on. Quite a few of these things had to do with being a graphic designer. For those of you who don't know, I'm a graphic designer at a Baptist Church, and I own my own side business as a graphic designer. Talk about getting burnt out on graphic design. So basically that day I was questioning if this is the life I wanted to have from now on. I mean, I like doing graphic design. I really do. It's fun, it's creative, you work with computers and every now and then get the chance to sketch out some work. But I guess the artist side of me sometimes comes out too much. It's like, what if Leonardo DaVinci painted the Mona Lisa, then when was finished and satisfied with it, people came in and we like, "Let's do this to it instead, and maybe change this color, and move this here". I mean, would it be his artwork still? Would he still love that piece that he once created? Sometimes I really feel that way. As a graphic designer, and being in this industry for almost 5 years, I know what the job comes with. Criticism, changes, rejection, disappointed and ever now and then the occaisional praise and thank you. Sometimes it feels that one outweighs the other. Maybe it's just as humans we always let the negative stand out like a sore thumb. I told my wife a little bit of what I was feeling, and she responded back, "Well, what would you want to do besides graphic design?". Honestly, I truly don't know. I don't even know why I'm feeling this way. It's really nothing to do with my job, I love where I work. I guess most of that is because I work with some really awesome people and they make each day so much fun. Of course, it doesn't help to be so far away from them during the day, as the graphic designers are set so far apart from the rest of the team. Sometimes, that doesn't help me feel connected. Like we're the bottom of the barrell. I don't know, maybe I'm just venting. I guess either way, God is in control and in the end, no matter what, he's going to put me exactly where he needs me to be.
